Grooming inquiry details revealed

ROTHERHAM’S child sex abuse inquiry will cover a 16-year period and investigate if council staff played down grooming because of ethnic tensions, it has been revealed.

The inquiry will cover the period from 1997 to January 2013 and an independent author will be chosen by the Local Government Association.

Current members and staff will be required to give evidence, but ex-Rotherham Council workers can only be invited.
