Garage fire treated as suspected arson

A BLAZE which burned down a Rotherham garage and forced families to flee nearby homes is being treated as suspected arson.

Detectives investigating the fire at the Whitehill Garage in Whitehill Lane, Brinsworth, which broke out just after 1am on Tuesday, are appealing for witnesses.

Police want to hear from anyone who was travelling along Sheffield Parkway shortly before 1am or any residents in the Rotherham Road, Old Brinsworth Road or New Street areas who may have seen or heard anything.
