Further appeal for witnesses to Clifton collision

POLICE have issued a further appeal for information about a car that may have been in convoy with another when a 78 year-old mobility scooter driver was hit.

At around 1.10pm on Tuesday, November 4, it is reported that a red Audi A3 was travelling along Clifton Lane towards Wellgate when it was in collision with the red mobility scooter.

The rider of the mobility scooter, a 78-year-old man, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries where he remains in a critical condition.

A police spokeswoman said: “It is believed that a silver Audi A4 estate may have been travelling near to, or in convoy with, the red Audi A3.

“They are reported to have turned onto Clifton Lane from the direction of Centenary Way.”

Officers are now appealing for anyone in the Eastwood and Clifton areas, that may have seen a red Audi and a silver Audi travelling together, to come forward.
