A MAN has been handed a court bill of almost £600 after dumping a large pile of soil at one of Rotherham’s worst fly-tipping hotspots.

Liam Buckley (46), of Foljambe Drive, Dalton, was fined £65 with £52 compensation and £459.57 costs for tipping household waste without a permit at America Lane in Hoober.

Rotherham Borough Council, which has installed signs warning of covert cameras, confirmed the quiet country road between West Melton and Wentworth was a regular dumping spot with 11 incidents reported in a single year.
