Five teenagers died in "most tragic accident”

A CORONER has called the crash on a notorious stretch of road in which five teenagers died “the most tragic accident”.

Nicola Mundy, the Doncaster Coroner, today recorded an accidental death verdict on friends Bartosz Bortniczak (18), Blake Cairns (16), Arpad Kore (18)  Jordanna Goodwin (16) and Megan Storey (16), who died after the Toyota Corolla Bartosz was driving crashed at Conisbrough last November after colliding with a Seat Leon.

Ms Mundy said there was no evidence of reckless driving but Bartosz lost control of the car on a bend and crashed.

“It was a mistake and they paid a high price for it,” Ms Mundy said.

Hundreds of people attended the funerals for the five friends, who met as students at Doncaster’s Danum Academy.

The inquest heard that the road conditions on the night when five teenagers died in a car crash on a notorious stretch of road were described as “horrific”.
