Five men in court for high-value burglaries

FIVE men have appeared in court in connection with high-value burglaries around Rotherham, Sheffield and Barnsley.

Detectives from Sheffield and Rotherham launched a joint investigation in March into burglaries in which jewellery, electrical items and vehicles were taken.

Officers carried out early morning raids on Monday and arrested three men who have since been charged with the offences.

AJ Ford, Bradley Watson and Daniel Fenwick — all of Sheffield — appeared before Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, where they were remanded into custody to appear at a later date.

Ford (18), of Stovin Drive, Watson (21), of Greenwood Avenue and Fenwick (27), of Spring Close View are all charged with one count of conspiracy to commit burglary, committed between February and March of this year, and possession of an imitation firearm.

Fenwick is also charged with handling stolen goods.

Two more men have been charged in connection with the incident and appeared before court today (Thursday).

Jack Wright (18), of Nursery Drive in Rotherham, and Joseph Lawrenson (18), of Stovin Drive in Sheffield, are both charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and possession of an imitation firearm.

Lawrenson is also charged with handling stolen goods. Both have been remanded in to custody.
