First win was massive, says Morgan

The centre-half turned in another man of the match display in Saturday's 2-1 success, securing a first three-pointer in League One after draws against Crewe and Preston.

Goals from Kieran Agard and a first for the club from David Worrall wiped out Mat Sadler's early opener and ensured a winning return to Crawley for Millers chief Steve Evans.

Morgan told the Advertiser: "If you look at the game overall, we would have felt hard done by to come out without winning. I could go home on the bus knowing we deserved to the three points.

"There was a lot of talk about the manager going back to his old club but to be honest there wasn't much stock put on that, or at least it wasn't relayed to the players. It was simply a chance to get our first win and that was massive to us.

"When you start a campaign, getting that first victory sets you rolling and that was important.

"We did well against Crewe and Preston also but what you don't want to do is keep coming out of every game saying you're doing well, but not winning, so I think there's a relief and a proudness to get that first win."

The Millers, seventh in the early standings, now turn their attention to Saturday's home date against Shrewsbury Town, with manager Evans looking to add one or two new faces to his squad.
