Firefighters tackle three arson attacks

FIREFIGHTERS dealt with three arson attacks across the borough last night.

In the first incident a park swing was set on fire on Cow Rakes Lane, Whiston, at 7.30pm and was extinguished by a crew from Rotherham station within 30 minutes.

Rubbish was then set alight on Nelson Road, Maltby, at 7.55pm and a crew from Maltby station attended the scene for 20 minutes.

A shed was torched at 9.30pm on Derwent Road, Mexborough.

No-one was injured and a crew from Dearne station was at the scene for almost an hour.
