Firefighters tackle fridge on fire

A FRIDGE was found on fire in a car park last night (Thursday).

Firefighters were called to the deliberate blaze at 10.45pm on Thicket Drive, Maltby.

A crew from Maltby station used a hose reel to extinguish the flames and left the scene at 11.10pm.

Arsonists struck twice at around 8pm, the first incident was on Kilnhurst Road, Rawmarsh, where a trailer was set on fire.

A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said a crew from Rotherham station attended the scene for 25 minutes.

The second incident was on Robert Road, Canklow, where a wheelie bin was torched which a crew from Parkway station brought under control within 20 minutes.
