Fire crews called to recycling plant blaze

THREE fire crews were called out to an accidental fire amongst recycling waste.

FIREFIGHTERS dealt with a blaze among recycling waste.

They spent an hour tackling the blaze after being called out to Wharf Road, Kilnhurst, at 2.30am this morning (Thursday).

The fire comes just weeks after a huge blaze at the Universal Recycling plant on Wharf Road in May which led to people being evacuated from their homes and plumes of smoke which could be seen from miles away.

A fire service spokeswoman could not confirm the location of Thursday’s fire.
