Fire crews called to chimney blaze

FIRE crews were called to a chimney fire in Maltby in the early hours of Friday.

They attended Chestnut Grove at about 4am and attacked the blaze from above.

Crews were at the scene for two hours and the fire was confirmed as accidental.

Firefighters from Rotherham, Cudworth and Dearne stations dealt with a garage fire in Bolton-on-Dearne on Thursday evening.

The detached structure on Ingsfield Lane was used for storage and had been set alight deliberately, the fire service said.
