Festive feel for Swinton bus station

A BUS station waiting room has been given a sprinkling of Christmas cheer thanks to a borough council grant.

For the first time, Swinton Transport Interchange will have its own Christmas tree.

The Christmas dream was turned into reality by Cllr Ken Wyatt, using funding from the borough council's Community Leadership Fund.

He said: "Swinton Interchange is a very well used transport facility and a gateway into our town.

"I noticed last Christmas that the waiting area had no Christmas decorations of any kind and thought that I would do something about it this year.

"Just as the tree at the Woodman roundabout gives a festive welcome to road users, the Interchange tree will greet rail passengers."
