Imagination library

Having started out with a campaign to "Save Our Greenbelt" in Ravenfield, and becoming increasingly alerted to how this Council sees fit to fritter away the public purse, I had to comment about the Imagination Library.

The idea in principle is sound. No disputing that fact.

The issue for me is that there are already very many libraries in Rotherham, and a mobile library service too. Recently, the Library Service for the blind was axed recently, as it was "too expensive."

It does seem another waste of our money, with donations below targets, a "59% success rate" (whatever that means) and a jolly to the USA for the 2Leader" Roger Stone to meet Dolly, when other services are being cut and its highly likely they will continue to be.

But I guess keeping the service for the blind and not opening the Imagination Library wouldn't have got Roger on a freebie jolly to the USA.

Er, why not just use the library - that's a place from where you can borrow a book and then after you've returned it, someone else can borrow it, aren't libraries brilliant !!!!!!!

This is what we in the real world call, a sensible use of public resources.

I think it's a brilliant idea to get children reading.  I've got two children under five who both receive the books and they love it when the latest book arrives.

I have also passed the information on to family members so my niece and nephew also receive the books.

Outrage after "sicko" beats Bull Terrier to death

I can't stop thinking about this terrible terrible deed.

The dog will have trusted this man - dragged or not - he has walked with him all the way to be beaten to death.

Many articles are written about dog bites and the like, will this lead onto worse things.  Well for dogs, a fight is a natural thing.  Often they are put into the sickening position because of people.

The man who has done this to this dog is sick and needs help.

Your' not telling me that someone who can do this to a defenceless

animal - wouldn't do it to a defenceless woman, child or any person.

This man needs help and must be charged with the offence.

He has brought shame on the kind people of Thurcroft, rotherham and south yorkshire.

What is to be done about it?

Name withheld.
