E-fit appeal after man tried to burgle home of pensioner

POLICE have released an e-fit of a man they want to speak to after an attempted distraction burglary in Mexborough.

In the incident — between 10am and 11am last Friday — the man approached the home of a vulnerable man in his 80s on Harlington Road in Mexborough.

The man allegedly told the victim that he needed work doing to the roof of his house but when challenged he left the area.

Anyone who can help identify the man is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 624 of April 7, 2017.
