Duckweed alert on canal

BRITISH Waterways and Rotherham Council are out in force this week in a bid to tackle invasive duckweed

Teams went out today to the Swinton Arm of the Dearne and Dove Canal for the big clean up.

A work boat was deployed on the canal to collect and remove as much of the weed as possible, as well as the litter which forms in the natural collecting point of the weed.
