Driver hurt in smash with articulated lorry

A MOTORIST was taken to hospital with a broken pelvis after his car collision with a lorry.

The 49-year-old man was driving a black Ford Focus towards Rotherham on Bawtry Road, Brinsworth.

A white and grey DAF large goods vehicle is reported to have emerged from the depot, turning right towards the M1 shortly after 7pm.

The car hit the offside of the lorry's trailer. The lorry driver (52), also from Brinsworth, was not hurt.

Witnesses are urged to call South Yorkshire Police on 0114 2202020, quoting incident 925 of Thursday, May 26.
