Drink-driver called Dolphin in deep water after crash
Carer Barbara Dolphin (67) wrote off her car while driving above the legal alcohol limit and has been banned from the road for a year.
Dolphin, of Eden Grove, Swallownest, crashed into two parked cars on Main Street, Aughton, in January while she had 44mg of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit is 35mg.

Hide AdShe admitted drink driving at Sheffield Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.
Mrs Yvonne Wragg, prosecutor, said Dolphin had been involved in a road traffic collusion with two parked vehicles on January 10.
“The police attended the incident and could smell intoxicants on her breath,” she said.
“She was arrested and admitted being the driver at the time if the incident.”

Hide AdDolphin, who represented herself, said she was a full time carer for her husband.
She apologised for the trouble she had caused and told the court it had been “one of those days”.
Dolphin also told the court she had written off her car and would not be driving again.
She was disqualified for 12 months and fined £120.
Dolphin was also ordered to pay £115 costs.
