Do you know Kimberworth rape suspect?

POLICE have released an e-fit image of a man they would like to speak to about an alleged rape on a 15-year-old girl in a cemetery earlier this year.

The incident happened in mid-January, on either a Friday or Saturday night, at about 9.30pm in Kimberworth.

The victim was walking along Kimberworth Road, near to Psalters Lane, when a man, described as a white male in his early to mid-20s with a stocky build and short hair, approached her and started speaking to her.

The teenager’s route took her past the gates of a local cemetery and it is alleged that the man forced her into the cemetery and raped her.

Sgt Chris Conway, the officer investigating this incident, said: “This appears to be an isolated incident that happened back in January.

“Anyone who thinks they know this man, or has information about this incident is asked to contact the police straight away.”
