Discount store burglar jailed

A MAN who burgled a discount store has been jailed for 18 weeks.

Lee Smith (37), of no fixed abode, who is also known as Dork, James Elliss and Smithy, admitted at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court last Wednesday (6) to stealing cash from Bargain Buys on College Street, Rotherham, on May 27.

Magistrates jailed Smith because he had a “flagrant disregard for court orders” and because the offence was aggravated by his previous record of offending.

Smith was ordered to pay £60 compensation and £85 costs.
