CSE: Three men arrested over Rotherham and Manchester abuse

THREE Rotherham men have been arrested as part of the investigation into historic child sexual exploitation (CSE).

A 46-year-old man was arrested on Monday and a 37-year-old man and a 41-year-old man were arrested yesterday (Wednesday).

The men were arrested on suspicion of indecent assault and gross indecency with a child under 16, alleged to have taken place in Rotherham and Manchester.

The trio have been released under investigation.

The men were arrested as part of the National Crime Agency’s (NCA) Operation Stovewood, which is investigating allegations of sexual abuse between 1997 and 2013.

To date, the NCA has arrested 38 people, 18 have been charged and three have been convicted.

Investigators are dealing with 253 victims and there are currently 34 investigations ongoing under the Operation Stovewood umbrella.
