Couple threatened with knives during street attack

ROBBERS threatened a couple with knives to steal a £1,000 gold chain.

A 39-year-old man and his girlfriend (29) were approached by three men as they walked home from the Red Bull pub in Masbrough.

There was a scuffle and the alleged offenders made off with the chain, but not a matching bracelet the woman was wearing.

The man received cuts, bruises and swelling to his face in the attack, on Union Street on Monday, May 3 at 11pm.

All three offenders wore dark-coloured sports clothing with hoods up and are said to be of medium build, in their late teens or early 20s, and between 5ft 10ins and and 6ft tall.

Anyone with information should contact Dc Rachel Morton in Rotherham CID on 01709 832265. Or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
