Sir-- I respond to Cllr Jepson's diatribe, see Advertiser 28 January.

Cllr Jepson attempts to say that Cllr Thornton's letter contains a number of inaccuracies in regard to the parish precept. Cllr Jepson has attended the majority of Council meetings. I suggest he revisits his remarks and elucidates.

Cllr Thornton has questioned the financial position of the parish council, Yes, I was under the impression councillors are there to ask questions regarding any matter, including finance.

Does Anston Parish Council have a problem with councillors asking perfectly legitimate, albeit awkward questions?

Cllr Jepson goes on to attack myself regarding the skate park. The perceived indifference of Cllr St.John!

Not perceived indifference Cllr Jepson, please get your facts straight. Cllr St.John at a parish council meeting some years ago said "It is not going to happen."

Yes, both Mr Thornton and I signed the Conservative nomination papers to oust ex Cllr Stonebridge.

So what! Our efforts were successful, this has never been a secret as Cllr Jepson well knows. Cllr Jepson, in his letter, refers to Cllr Stonebridge - WRONG - he is Mr Stonebridge.

I see his obsession with Cllr Hughes continues. Cllr Jepson misses the points in Cllr Thornton's letter - i.e. Cllr Jepson DOES live outside the Anston Parish boundary.

Cllr Jepson did vote against the drop in the parish precept. Let's get it right Clive, facts not fairy tales.
