Collision leaves pedestrian with life-threatening injuries

A 60-year-old was left with life-threatening injuries following a collision on a pedestrian crossing.

The man was crossing the road at Bawtry Road’s junction with Flash Lane, at Wickersley, when the incident occurred at around 3.30pm on Sunday (3).

South Yorkshire Police are now appealing for witnesses of the collision.

A police spokeswoman said: “At around 3.30pm on Sunday a black Volkswagen Golf was travelling along Bawtry Road toward Wickersley.

“At the junction with Flash Lane, on the pedestrian crossing, the Golf has been in collision with a 60-year-old man.

“The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 590 of May 3.
