A CHOIR will be singing pretty to support one of the country’s most important Georgian country houses.

Thurnscoe Harmonic Male Voice Choir will be holding a special performance on Friday, March 31, to raise awareness and support Wentworth Woodhouse.

The singers will be performing in the grand Marble Saloon of the magnificent building from 7pm.

A reception will be held in the Pillared Hall at 6.30pm with wine, tea and coffee included at the interval in the State Dining Room.

Tickets are priced at £17 each, available online at wentworthwoodhouse.co.uk or by calling Wentworth Woodhouse on 01226 351161.

The choir will be supported by soloist Brad Pepper who has been voted Best Young Artiste of 2016 in the Northern Clubland scene.

It has also appealed for donations for raffle prizes and is selling advertising space in a souvenir programme for the event. Any company or individual who wants to donate or purchase advertising space should contact the choir on 01709 584547.

A choir spokesman said: “The wonderful building is so unique and so special to South Yorkshire that it needs everyone to pull together to save it for our grandchildren.

“All funds raised will go towards restoration work needed to maintain this special building.”
