Child's terror as father attacks mum with knife

Azhar Hussain attacked his estranged wife Taliba Khaliq with a knife in front of little Sameeha. leaving Taliba with wounds in her back, chest, chin and arms as the blood-covered youngster pleaded with him to stop.

A jury found Hussain, of Carlisle Street, Rotherham, not guilty of attempted murder.

But he had previously admitted wounding with intent to cause grievious bodily harm and will be sentenced later.

Sheffield Crown Court heard that Hussain had used a kitchen knife in the lunctime attack in Bridgegate.

He had also threatened to stab a pensioner who went to help Taliba.

He was arrested in Rotherham bus station after being followed there by onlookers.
