Charity recruiting for new Dearne call centre

NEW jobs are being created in the Dearne Valley with the opening of a charity’s innovative new NHS call centre.

Five people will be recruited to fill new positions at The Hub Phone Contact Centre in Manvers, which will be run by the  Carers' Federation and is due to open next month.

Staff at The Hub will be on the frontline for helping people who wish to make a complaint about their NHS treatment, or the care they have received from health service providers.

Members of the public will be able to raise their concerns and making their voices heard through calls to the centre under a new Government service called Healthwatch.

The new call centre, based on Patrick Tobin Business Park, Manvers, will also see staff putting people in touch with Healthwatch in parts of the country where the Carers' Federation is running these services.

The Carers’ Federation runs a variety of other services aimed at carers, as well as the loved ones they look after, across South Yorkshire, the East Midlands and in other areas, including support for young carers and adult carers.

The Hub in Rotherham may also support the work of these services in future.

The Carers' Federation already employs eight people in Rotherham, as it runs an office delivering the ICAS (Independent Complaints Advocacy Service) service for Yorkshire and Humberside, also based in Patrick Tobin Business Park.
