VOLUNTEERS are needed for the ultimate mucking-out job — at one of the country’s grandest stables.
The Big Clean Up at Wentworth Woodhouse will involve six days of clearing out rubbish, wood and other waste from the massive mansion’s stableblock.
Alison Constantine, Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation Trust ‘s newly-appointed volunteer co-ordinator, said: “We are asking the public for help in the biggest clean up ever undertaken at the property.
“Years of accumulated material needs clearing out into skips at the Stableblock, and the work will be heavy and dirty.
“Are you up for a challenge? If so, the team at Wentworth would love to hear from you.”
Eight places to clear the stableblock are available on each of the following dates: Friday, October 13; Sunday, October 15; Sunday, October 29; Sunday, November 5; Friday, November 17; Sunday, November 19.
Each clean-up day will run from around 10am to 4pm and lunch and drinks will be provided.
Booking is essential and those interested are asked to secure their spot by calling Alison Constantine on 01226 351161.
Those taking part are reminded to dress in warm, old clothing with sturdy footwear, and be prepared for dirty work.
