The club are due to make a statement after the Sheffield Wednesday game on April 4 about their future plans, with the identity of the next full-time manager the major talking point.

Tony Stewart has confirmed to the Advertiser that Warne remains in the frame and, should he be handed the role longer term, the Millers chairman acknowledged extra help for the popular fitness coach was an option.

"That's all being taken into consideration, we would look at the number two (position)," said Mr Stewart. "All these things are being discussed behind closed doors and we will come to a decision in a couple of weeks time."
