CCTV appeal after thief's £3,200 Meadowhall spending spree

POLICE investigating after an elderly woman was conned out of her bank card have released CCTV of a man they wish to trace.

The 80-year-old victim had her card taken from her home by someone who claimed to be from the fraud department of her bank.

It was used to buy £3,200 of goods from Meadowhall within a 45-minute period on the day it was stolen.

Anyone who recognises the man in the CCTV or has other information which could help the inquiry is asked to call 101, quoting incident 392 of August 5.

A police spokesman added: “If you are ever concerned about who is calling you, always ask for full details and if you aren’t sure, speak to a relative, Citizens Advice or the police.
