Canklow man charged with human trafficking

FIVE people have been charged with human trafficking offences, after police raids in Rotherham and Sheffield.

Shane Booth (27), of Henderson Court in Canklow, was arrested with Nicolae Ionita (24), Razvan Tanasa (30), Claudia Ionita (29) — all of Hillsborough — and Sorina Cretu (22) of Attercliffe Road, Sheffield.

All were charged with human trafficking crimes under the Modern Slavery Act 2015.

They have been bailed to appear before Sheffield Crown Court on Wednesday December, 20.

Warrants were executed on November 30 at Leppings Lane in Hillsborough, Henderson Court in Canklow and Pandora’s Massage Parlour, Sheffield.

A closure notice was subsequently served on the massage parlour, under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

It will remain closed until a court hearing on Friday, December 8, when officers will apply for the property to be closed for three months.
