Call for more action on wildlife
The Wildlife Trust for Sheffield and Rotherham wants everyone to help change the way the natural environment is managed and create A Living Landscape, which puts wildlife back on the map.
The Government will publish a Natural Environment White Paper next spring addressing wildlife issues and how to solve them.

- Provides a framework to restore the health of wildlife and the natural processes upon which it and people depend, such as clean air and water.
- Secures protection and enhances existing wildlife sites, both now and in the future.
- Works to halt biodiversity loss.
- Encourages local authorities and central Government to strongly consider the environment in planning and development.
Nigel Doar, chief executive, The Wildlife Trust for Sheffield and Rotherham, said: “We believe nature conservation is entering a pivotal time and we want the Government to feel the weight of public support for more action to put nature on a path to recovery.
“The UK has the opportunity to lead the world.
“Everyone has a fundamental right to a healthy natural environment.
“We know many people within Sheffield and Rotherham beyond our 5,100 members have a passion for wildlife and so we want to encourage them to have their say.
