Business awards launched by the Chamber

AWARDS to celebrate the best in business have been launched ahead of a glittering ceremony later this year.

The 2017 Barnsley and Rotherham Business Awards are being run by the Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber of Commerce.

There are 12 different awards on offer including three new categories which will recognise excellence in customer services, commitment to the environment, and a new Chamber lifetime achievement honour.

The Business of the Year award will recognise one business which has demonstrated outstanding achievements and is regarded as one of the region’s most highly sought after prizes. 

The Chamber has teamed up with RNN Group — which operates Rotherham College, North Notts College and Dearne Valley College.

The awards ceremony will take place at Magna in Rotherham on Friday, October 13.

The Chamber is also calling on member businesses to get in touch to receive a Salute to Business on the evening.

All businesses with an S postcode, as well as members of Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber, are eligible to enter the awards. 

This year’s award categories are Most Promising New Business; Business Growth; Business Community Impact; Manufacturing Excellence; Excellence in Customer Service; Environmental Commitment; Business Person of the Year; Skills Development; Digital and Creative; Apprentice of the Year; Tourism, Leisure or Hospitality; and The Chamber’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

This year’s sponsors include ASD Lighting, Brook Corporate Developments, Enzygo, Fortem, Magna, Rotherham College, RUFC, SOTpay, SteelPhalt Harsco, The Source, XPO Logistics, and Barnsley and Rotherham Chamber.

The awards will be open to enter on Monday, June 6, and sponsorship packages are available.
