Bus and cycle lane plans up for comment

RESIDENTS are being asked to give their opinion on planned changes to the road layout in Dalton.

Changes could be made at Whinney Hill and the Oldgate Road junction with Doncaster Road.

South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive (SYPTE) and Rotherham Borough Council want to hear residents’ views on the planned works, which involve:

  • Providing a 24-hour bus and cycle lane down the Whinney Hill section of the A630 Doncaster Road.
  • Installing traffic signals at the junction of Doncaster Road, Oldgate Road and Tata Steel's access road.

They are the final set of improvements to be made by SYPTE and the council as part of the A630 Smart Route scheme.

Previous improvements have been made on Mushroom Roundabout and the approach to St Ann's Roundabout.

The work is planned to take place from September and is expected to take up to 32 weeks.

Residents who can't attend the drop-in session can email their comments and questions to [email protected]
