The big central defender has signed for an undisclosed fee on a deal until 2020.

Ajayi (23) has generally impressed since joining the club at the end of January and the club have moved quickly to tie him to a longer deal.

Speaking earlier this month, interim manager Paul Warne said: "Semi has settled in here and done really well. At times he needs to be a little bit more aggressive and vocal but he's got all the tools you would want for a centre-half. The move has done him good and benefited us."

Schooled at Arsenal, Ajayi spent time on loan at AFC Wimbledon and Crewe last term. He joined Cardiff in June 2015 and has left to get the chance of regular senior football which the Millers, now planning for a fresh start in League One, can offer him.
