BREAKING: Fire crews called to blaze at Mexborough newsagents

A FIRE has broken out at a Mexborough newsagents this morning (Thursday).

Around four fire crews are currently at the scene on Doncaster Road near the junction of Hirst Gate.

Police were alerted to the blaze at around 11.20am and a spokeswoman said it was believed gas cannisters had exploded but it was an ongoing incident.

She added: "It is believed four people sustained injuries in the incident and they are currently receiving treatment. These injuries are not thought to be serious.

"Doncaster Road at the junctions with Church Street and New Street currently remain closed."
