Boy arrested over pavilion blaze

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a suspected arson which saw fire tear through a village pavilion.

Firefighters were called to Woodsetts Pavilion, off Gildingwells Road, Woodsetts, at around 9.45pm on Friday  night after reports of a blaze.

Police also attended the incident and arrested the teenage suspect, from North Anston, at the scene.

He has now been bailed without charge pending further investigations.

Crews from Maltby and Aston battled the blaze for almost two hours following the suspected arson attack which caused extensive damage to the one-story building’s roof space and interior.
