Blues great Joe Bonamassa to play at Magna

ONE of the worlds’s greatest guitarists, blues star Joe Bonamassa, will be appearing at Rotherham’s Magna centre next week.

Bonamassa, 33,  boasts an impressive status as a genuine musician’s musician.

He has been playing professionally since the age of 12 and has attracted admirers including Eric Clapton, who joined him to jam on stage at the Royal Albert Hall last year.

He has also played with the likes of Joe Cocker, Steve Winwood, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy and Ted Nugent and his legendary status was assured.

He has appeared in South Yorkshire before at the Boardwalk in Sheffield, but has now outgrown the pub and club circuit.

Magna will be one of only four UK venues on the current European Tour to showcase his latest album Black Rock—his tenth solo album.

It’s the only opportunity to see Joe live in the north and his only other appearances are in London, Bournemouth and Birmingham before he heads off to the continent, although he does return to London for a one off gig in July.

The Magna concert is next Saturday, May 29. Tickets at £27.50 are available from the

Box Office on 0871 2301101.
