Bluebell Wood boxes clever with Tony Bellew

BOXER Tony Bellew will speak about his career in the ring while raising money for Bluebell Wood.

The three-time ABA heavyweight champion and former WBC world champion cruiserweight fighter will take part in an ‘evening with’ event at Hellaby Hall Hotel.

Fans will have the chance to meet Tony and there will be a three-course meal, charity auction and raffle.

The Liverpool-born boxer turned professional in October 2007 after enjoying a 40-7 amateur career.

He held the WBC international belt after beating Colombian Edison Miranda at Alexandra Palace in London in 2012.

Bluebell Wood community fundraiser Anna Gott said: “This is going to be a fantastic night out for sports fans and a chance to hear all about the amazing career of a boxing great.

“We’re delighted that fundraising on the evening will be going to Bluebell Wood, as well as a percentage of ticket sales.

“Every penny raised can make a huge difference to our families, helping them to live with love and laughter, whether they have days, weeks or years left together.”

Tickets for the event on Friday, September 8, start at £75, with £10 from each sale going to Bluebell Wood.
