Big freeze hits Rotherham bin collections

HOUSEHOLDERS have been warned that bin collections have been hit by the bad weather.

Rotherham Borough Council was unable to follow the Christmas and New Year timetables.

Any refuse collections missed this week will be collected next week on the normal collection days for black bins.

But green bins should not be put out for collection over this period, and any missed blue boxes and bags will be collected on the next scheduled collection day.

Trade waste collections may not be made on the normal collection day but the council is endeavouring to clear the Christmas backlog as soon as possible.

Clinical waste collections were suspended on Tuesday, January 5, and will be picked up on the next designated collection day.

Rotherham Council apologised for any inconvenience caused to residents and local businesses during this time.
