Firefighters discovered the remains while tackling a blaze at a garage off Broom Road, Broom, at around 9.30am on Tuesday
Police cordoned off the area later that day and forensic teams moved in to comb the area around the burnt out building for clues.
Detectives believe that the fire may have been caused deliberately.
