BHF charity box theft is “beyond disgusting”

A SHOP worker has spoken of her disgust after thieves stole a charity box she was using to collect money in memory of her grandfather.

The British Heart Foundation box was taken from the shop on Blyth Road in Maltby at around 8.30pm last Thursday, January 4.

Staff member Ellie Pepper had put the collection tin on the shop’s counter, in memory of her granddad, who died last year after suffering a heart attack.

CCTV captured a man picking up the money box and putting it in his jacket, before walking out of the door.

Another man is seen standing near the door while the thief took the cash.

Ellie said: “Stealing is bad enough, but stealing a charity box is beyond disgusting.”
