Banned driver high on drink and drugs crashes into car

A DISQUALIFIED driver who was high on drink and drugs has been remanded in custody after he crashed into a parked car.

The man in his late 40s, who was driving a Ford Fiesta, collided with the vehicle before ending up in a field near to Worrygoose Island, Broom, around 3pm yesterday (Wednesday).

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said : “The only occupant was the adult driver who was arrested for being unfit to drive through drink or drugs, dangerous driving and disqualified driving.  

“He remains in custody and will be questioned later today.”

The spokesman added: “Mercifully no-one was hurt, but it could have been much worse.”
