Baby survives killer meningitis bug

ROTHERHAM mum Andrea Jenkinson has paid tribute to staff at Rotherham Hospital who save her baby daughter after she was struck down with meningitis.

Five-week-old twin Eleanor was found to be suffering from a rare strain of the disease when she was admitted to Rotherham District Hospital.

She remained in a critical condition for three days before finally pulling home.

Little Eleanor is now at home in Cottam Close, Whiston.

Rotherham Hospital gets a lot of flak but in this case they saved my daughter’s life,” said 40-year-old mother-of-six Andrea.

“They were absolutely fantastic and thank you just doesn’t seem enough.”
