Asda's A-team ready to tackle Rotherham's litter

ROTHERHAM supermarket staff are launching a war on litter — and they asking the public to help.

Retail giant |Asda has launched a nationwide Big Litter Pick initiative and the ‘A-team’  from the company’s Rotherham stores want the public to identify litter hotspots that need attention.

Nominations can be made at the Asda store in Aldwarke Lane, Rotherham, via a suggestion box at the Community Life area or by speaking to the community champion.

Then the store’s’ A-team will board its minibus and go into action on September 18.

Craig Antrobus, store manager at Asda Rotherham, said: "This is the first time our stores will have worked together on something like this so we thought we'd use social media to help customers get involved and follow our progress.

“We're all really keen to get out into the local community in Rotherham and get our hands dirty while having some fun in the process."

Asda says members of the community are welcome to take part with all the necessary tools provided, including high-visibility vests, gloves, bin liners and litter pickers.
