Arsonists torch signal box

POLICE are appealing for information after a railway signal box was torched in Tinsley.

Firefighters spent two hours tackling the blaze which was started when an arsonist targeted the signal box at Tinsley.

British Transport Police detectives are calling on anyone with information about the incident at 8pm on Sunday August 1 to get in touch to help them catch the culprits

Officers believe the vandals broke into the signal box before setting it alight, putting themselves in considerable danger.

Damage was confined to a room above the signalling area, the fire service said.
