Arsonists target vehicles and buildings

FIREFIGHTERS dealt with several deliberate and accidental fires over the weekend.

Rotherham station attended Cross Street, Bradgate at 2.15am on Saturday, when a outbuilding was alight.

The blaze is thought to have been set deliberately.

The same station attended Hartley Lane, Thornhill at 9.15pm the same day.

A Peugeot 306 car was on fire — thought to have been targeted deliberately.

Dearne, Elm Lane and Parkway stations attended Fitzwilliam Road in Eastwood.

Staff put out a kitchen fire, started after food was left on a hob accidentally.

Dearne station attended Rowms Lane, Swinton at 12.05am, when a Mercedes van and a lorry were on fire.

They left the scene around one hour later. The blaze is thought to have been started deliberately.

Staff from Tankersley station attended Dovecliffe Road, Wombwell at 1.40pm on Sunday, when woodland and grassland was on fire.

They left the scene around 45 minutes later. The fire was thought to have been set deliberately.
