Arson suspected in Edlington club blaze

A LARGE blaze at a disused club early on Monday is being treated as suspicious, firefighters have confirmed.
More than 35 firefighters attended Granby Working Mens Club in Edlington at about 3.45am.
At the height of the incident they used six fire engines, an aerial ladder platform and a rescue unit.
No-one was in the club, on Broomhouse Lane, and there were no evacuations necessary from nearby housing.
An investigation into the cause of the fire started on Monday, and Broomhouse Lane was closed until 11am while fire crews were still at the scene.
Police have asked witnesses or anyone with useful information to contact Dc Nicola Hallam on 0114 220 2020 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
