Arson attacks down

RATES of arson have fallen by 12 per cent this summer thanks to a joint campaign aimed at educating young people and their parents about the consequences of starting fires.

South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue has reported a drop in deliberate small fires during the school holiday period in Rotherham, with 15 fewer incidents across the region compared to the same period last year.

The plunge in incidents represents a financial saving of more than £30,000.
