Are you registered to vote?

PEOPLE are being urged to check they are registered to vote so they can have their say in this year’s all-out local election.

All 63 seats on Rotherham Borough Council will be up for election when voters go to the polls on Thursday, May 5.

There will also be an election to choose a police and crime commissioner for South Yorkshire on the same day.

Sharon Kemp, council chief executive and returning officer, said: “These are the first all-out local elections in Rotherham for some time so it is especially important that you are able to cast your vote. 

“It's quick and easy to register online so please act now and help us to spread the word about the National Voter Registration Drive, particularly among those who have moved recently or who are eligible students.”

The deadline in the elections is April 18.
