Appeal after woman is seriously hurt in crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a young woman was “seriously injured” when her car collided with a tree in Thurcroft.

The 22-year-old was driving a black VW Golf along Hawks Hill Lane towards Common Lane when she reached a junction.

Officers believe that she failed to give way at the junction, her car travelling straight across the road and onto a grass verge before hitting the tree.

She was taken to Rotherham Hospital with a serious head injury, which is not thought to be life-threatening.

This happened at around 11.45pm yesterday.

Anyone who witnessed the incident should call South Yorkshire Police on non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 1347 of August 23.
